Our church replaced the laptop that is used to host Zoom meetings for our church services. With the new computer, speech comes across fine, but music (organ, singing, etc) is completely suppressed. Group prayers (multiple people speaking at once) are also suppressed. The new computer is an Acer Aspire, with Windows 11. Our old computer ran Windows 10.
When we watch the input bar in the audio settings in Zoom, it drops to nothing when music starts up, which makes me think that the issue is happening before it gets to Zoom
I've read that there is a new feature in Microsoft Teams that suppresses sounds it does not consider to be speech -- I wonder if this is related to our problem somehow?

I've been through this problem with a friend expert in computers.
The only solution, not very expensive, is to use a H4 or an external soundcard. They will sqeeze the audio of Windows and allow you to use Zoom and all the other applications as usual. There is no possibility to disable the noise reduction in Windows itself.

I set the option and it appeared to work but since that initial time it has been working inconsistently.
Sound happens for a second or two and then disappears. Voice is strong.
I have the problem with other's gongs as well. Others can hear the person's gong but I do not and they can't really hear mine.
I've noticed a popup that says musician's sound off and I have to click it to turn it on. Very frustrating that the app turns it off again for you.
Even so the sound doesn't always work.

It's caret not carot. I couldn't find an option on zoom web site to launch a meeting. It kept launching the app. But I did find that option in the app audio settings as well. Thanks a lot! I will try it on my next meeting!
Open Zoom online (not the app). Then open a meeting and click the carot next to the mic in the lower left corner and then click audio settings.
The next window should look like this:
Click "Advanced" at the bottom. The next window shows signal processing by windows. Choose OFF from the dropdown menu.
