Our church replaced the laptop that is used to host Zoom meetings for our church services. With the new computer, speech comes across fine, but music (organ, singing, etc) is completely suppressed. Group prayers (multiple people speaking at once) are also suppressed. The new computer is an Acer Aspire, with Windows 11. Our old computer ran Windows 10.
When we watch the input bar in the audio settings in Zoom, it drops to nothing when music starts up, which makes me think that the issue is happening before it gets to Zoom
I've read that there is a new feature in Microsoft Teams that suppresses sounds it does not consider to be speech -- I wonder if this is related to our problem somehow?

Thank you, I have done that. I tried changing that advanced setting, but it didn't make a difference. I also just updated my Zoom app, but no improvement. Also, the speaker is no longer working with the Jabra speakerphone when I test it, so I really hope all this fiddling with my settings hasn't screwed things up. Sigh.
You can open zoom and go to audio settings and test the mic and the speakers without actually being in a meeting.
I've got a new Dell XPS 8960 with Windows 11 in October 2023. I use a Jabra speakphone but also have Realtek speakers, and a Yeti microphone. I started having issues with Zoom when playing my harp on calls, even with the "original sound for musicians" option selected.
I play the harp on calls for family and friends but I also am attending harp workshops online, and I can't hear them and they can't hear me, so it's very frustrating, to say the least.
I've followed almost every instruction that has been suggested here and by the various support contacts and still haven't been able to get this fixed. I had a Zoom two weeks ago where the audio actually worked, but then there was a big system update and yesterday on two calls, the same problem was back.
Thanks for the link to the video. I have tried so many different options. I may have tried this before but didn't know to restart my computer after changing the setting. I'll have to wait until my next Zoom to see if changing Settings > Audio > Advanced > Signal processing by Windows audio device drivers to "Off (Windows - Raw)" works. I'm not optimistic but I'll give it a try. Thanks!
I was so troubled with this issue of audio not working properly on Windows 11 - Zoom. I tried so many things available on zoom and Microsoft websites and nothing worked!! Then I found this video and voila it solved it in an instant - https://youtu.be/3rjpnsGnEZk?si=\_UDNbSWqagPHCwWj
