My Headphone Jack no longer works after upgrading to Windows 11. It works if I have it plugged in and reboot, but as soon as I unplug it stops until a reboot....it does not automatically detect it

I have tried them all and none of them work.

The headphone jack was working fine on windows 10 but on the insider preview of windows 11 it does not work properly.

If i connect my earphones when the laptop is turning on but if i take the earphones out then the laptop is working i cannot connect them again. Now i will have to restart my laptop if i want to connect them again.

    This is so much annoying.

I have exactly the same problem, happened in the last few days but not sure exactly when. None of the online guides to sort the problem work. Extremely frustrating.

This is also a problem for me and has been an issue since an update mid to late 2022.

This is a firmware issue in detecting an output 3.5 audio jack being plugged into the devices while running, only working if the jack was plugged in during a boot/restart.

I am beginning to lose faith in support here as this is getting no attention by Microsoft, if they are they are being super quiet about it. This issue is affecting multiple devices across multiple brands. I have a laptop that requires movement between multiple spaces and audio output is required. I hate having to restart my laptop 3-5 times a day just to get it working correctly.

    Getting fed up with this...

Same problem here. Dell Vostro 5620. It does not recognise the jack in the headphone slot, at all.
It is a vital problem for someone working with videos.
All of the drivers are up-to-date according to the devices manager.

Same issue. Just happened about a week ago with an Insider Build update.

Hope this gets resolved soon. I record and project using headphone and speakers (not at the same time). In other words, I use this feature a lot!

This is definitely an issue in a current build of Windows 11 - not my drivers.

    Current setup:

    Dell Precision 7530 Workstation laptop.
