Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard stops working randomly (but not the mouse nor number pad)

I have a Microsoft Sculpt ergonomic wireless keyboard for a few months now. I run Windows 11. I did the last update on my computer yesterday and since then the keyboard randomly stops working. I tried using the solutions on this thread https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/microsoft-sculpt-wireless-keyboard-intermittent/576defc3-634a-4a6a-9793-230dcc447f77 from 2018, but nothing works. It's the same issue : I have to remove the batteries, wait a bit, put them back in and the keyboard works again. When the keyboard doesn't work, the number pad still does as does the mouse. It's my work computer so I don't have all the access for the Command Thing. Right now as I'm typing, the keyboard is randomly activating and de-activating some shortcuts despite me not touching anything but the keys to write.

What do I do ? I've done all the updates, I've run the Hardware & Devices updates/troubleshooting and nothing is helping.

Infos about the computer :

Acer Spin 513-52N, Edition Windows 11 Home, version 21H2, OS build 22000.613 64bits (I'm not sure which infos you need).

Thanks

I've had this problem a couple times on different Sculpt keyboards (one I use at work and one I use at home). Both times I ultimately discovered that the problem was caused by a key getting stuck (most recently it was the F8 key). Presumably when the key is pressed repeatedly and no other keys are being pressed to interrupt it, the keyboard decides to disconnect.

Both times when I fiddled with the sticking key a bit and to get it unstuck, the problem of the keyboard disconnecting (despite the number pad working) went away - no more taking the batteries out and putting them back in every time I stopped using the keyboard for a few minutes.

The design of this keyboard seems to have an issue with keys somehow getting caught in the pressed position, but fixing that when it happens generally solves the problem of disconnecting.

IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, TRY TO UNSTICK THE KEYS!

I was having the same issue with the keyboard not responding to any keystrokes, but the separate numeric keypad worked fine.

After deleting and reinstalling the drivers, I followed the advice to 'unstick' the function keys. I went across the top line of function keys rapidly tapping each key with some sideways and up and down force, until suddenly the keyboard responded.

In support of the stuck key syndrome diagnosis, I noticed that this occurred after the previous night's visit from the office cleaning staff. I left the keyboard out overnight, and the cleaners wiped and/or vacuumed the keyboard. I believe their action caused a stuck key.

So, I happily retrieved the batteries from my trash can, since they were not the problem, set aside the clunky temporary Dell wired keyboard for future emergency, and resumed typing.

I have exactly the same problem. Keyboard stops working after just a few seconds of no use. Works fine until I pause for more than about 30 seconds, then stops working. I then have to remove the batteries. Same behaviour on three different laptops (Lenovo, HP, Microsoft, using W10 and W11).

Would appreciate some advice on this, thanks.

Contacted the company. Got a new keyboard. It's been a month and.... it's doing it again.

Did all the same resolutions - nothing. Everything is updated. I'm very annoyed.

Believe me I feel your pain! I tried EVERYTHING fix this so I thought until I finally rolled back the keyboard and mouse drivers (I have the ergonomic desktop set and the mouse was also lagging) from the device manager. My problem has been resolved since I did this over a month ago. Hope this works for you too friend!
