Memory integrity forced off "incompatible driver" STTub30.sys (STmicroelectronics)

Recently my memory integrity has been forced off due to an "incompatible driver" preventing the service from running. The incompatible driver in question is from STmicroelectronics driver "STTub30.sys" In my attempt to fix this, I uninstalled this driver and tried windows update to see if my PC would automatically reinstall this driver but no luck. Now when I turn Memory integrity on and restart my PC (as it prompts me to do so) my computer is stuck on the loading up screen, and I must force shutdown my pc and turn it on again in order to use it. I tried finding the specific driver online from the STmicroelectronics website to manually reinstall it but no luck

    I have no idea what the driver does, but I removed it from my drivers AND driverstore folders.
    Afterwards I turned on memory protection in Windows Defender and rebooted.

    It all works as normal for almost a week now + seems faster (had issues with my mouse lagging, which seems to be gone)

    No idea what the driver is, maybe it's better to rename it instead of just removing it.

    I can't find the file STTub30.sys in my drivers folder. However, I did find it in the DriverStore folder. Does that make sense? What should I do?

    If it gets stuck there, it means an error is being emitted but hidden by your system. I'm no tech, but if I recall right, there's a certain key to press which will get it to show the error. If you can get that error, then you can use that to figure out a solution. I think it's F9.

    My guess is that the driver is incompatible with your hardware which would explain why it wouldn't finish booting. You'd need to determine what your hardware needs then obtain that. My recommendation? Get in touch with MSI and work with their support to find out which driver you need. I know it isn't as DIY as some would like, but when I run into a wall like that, I usually fall back to getting in touch with the manufacturer. Especially if the equipment is new.

    Hi,

    Can anyone tell me what STTube30.sys is for and how it may have gotten on to my windows 11 PC?

    The few articles that I can find on the web seem to suggest micro controller boards but I odn't have any of these?
