Why am I still not receiving the 22h2 update for Windows 11 even though my device is compatible and meets the minimum specifications by much

Yes they are quite heavy issues honestly.

If you've yet to receive it then you simply have a block and that's for each one to figure out. Some blocks cannot be solved easily. You can risk manually updating if that's your desire or you wait and see if it ever becomes unblocked. Some computers could remain blocked as was seen with Windows 10. Some may receive it many months later. I have one computer it may have only showed up 12 months later on Windows 10 - quite a few months went by without seeing it and I forgot about it there.

Wait, try to get rid of the blocks on the list (if its even possible) and see if it gets offered in the following days, or manually update. That's all your options. That's all the options anyone has who has one or more blocks placed by the system for each computer.

That's basically the end of the story. Every computer is different. A blanket question isn't of tons of use here. It would only become a thread of me too or why me or why why why. Not much else can be done.

There is some feature it was present on W10 that was taken away from W11 and now finally MS seems to have understood these features were useful

Because I was using them I would like to have this update asap, of course. TOgether with all what W11 22H2 will bring. It was announced as well.

I know I'm frantic because I need that update now, even though I haven't a clue what's in it. I've been sitting idly at this computer for weeks now, losing sleep because the infamous 22H3 isn't showing up as an optional download. I'm not sure how much more I can take before I totally lose it.

Seriously, your statement comes across to me a little different, e.g., "Sorry, I don't understand why you're so frantic about getting a feature update, when you aren't even aware of what the new and updated features are. How do you know they'll matter to you?"

How do you come to the conclusion that one isn't aware of what's in this new update? But then strangely enough, you add "Want to know what's in the update? The details are always published on Microsoft's website: What's new in Windows 11, version 22H2" ... to say one isn't aware of what the new updated features are, is to suggest at least, one hasn't heard this or read this for themselves. Though possible, you cannot make it a blanket statement.

I've got to say, you seem to take offense because some (including myself) have asked regarding 22H2. Hopefully, I'm reading you wrong.

My advice: if you're not too pleased with some asking about this update, it might be best to leave it be. It's ok! You'll no doubt feel better at the end of the day. ;-)

Sorry, I don't understand why you're so frantic about getting a feature update, when you aren't even aware of what the new and updated features are. How do you know they'll matter to you? Or maybe it includes new features and updates to existing features that you'll hate, and rue the day they were installed? Feature updates don't contain critical security patches and bug fixes; those are distributed separately.

The principal reason why it takes many months to distribute a feature update is that they are released to PCs in waves, depending on what Microsoft knows about your computer via telemetry. After every wave, Microsoft evaluates how successful (or how much of a disaster) the update was on the selected computers. With this information, Microsoft can identify possible bugs to fix before the next wave of updates goes out.

Users who succumb to FOMO lose the benefit of this careful approach, and often end up making posts here where every second word has to be blotted out by the moderators.

If there's a particular feature that you need to have ASAP, those can sometimes be duplicated, sort of, by existing utilities that will get you through until your computer receives the update.
