Audio stopped working after upgrading win11 to 22H2

Hi,

My audio is not working after upgrading to 22H2. My computer is an ASUS less than one year old. I have tried to reinstall the Realtek driver without solving the problem.

Looking in the devicemanager the Realtek driver has this error after each time I have reinstalled the driver:

Device INTELAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0294&SUBSYS_104313B2&REV_1000\5&205ca6cb&0&0001 had a problem starting.

Driver Name: oem88.inf

Class Guid: {4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

Service: IntcAzAudAddService

Lower Filters: 

Upper Filters: 

Problem: 0x0

Problem Status: 0xC00000E5

Is there any ideas of what I can try to get this working again?

    Thank you for the extensive reply, Musa. I it is exhausting just reading of the contortions you and others are going through. For now, since I now know a workaround to get Audacity working: every upgrade changes the Sound (Recording) default to Intel Smart Sound Technology SST. Switching it (back) to Stereo Mix gets Audacity working again. It's a pain, as sometimes the upgrade kills Audacity and I have to reinstall it again.

    I updated my Realtek audio driver manually with the driver listed here: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=realtek%20windows%2011

    Windows 11 Client, version 22H2 and later, Servicing Drivers, Windows 11 Client, version 22H2 and later, Upgrade & Servicing Drivers, Windows 11 Client S, version 22H2 and later, Servicing Drivers, Windows 11 Client S, version 22H2 and later, Upgrade & Servicing Drivers

    Drivers (Sound)

    6.0.9394.1

    It downloads as a .cab file, but you can extract the files inside and then go through the Update Driver via Device Manager to use this driver.

    And my sound works again.

    How do you know what file to download? I randomly selected one 6.0.9394.1 file but when trying to update my Realtek Audio driver it says that I already have the correct driver installed (which in my case is 6.0.9219.1).

    Saerching the Microsoft Update Catalog for "Realtek 22H2 sound" gets 287 lines of hits, a lot of them are version 6.0.9394.1, but also other versions are listed. How did you find out what version to use on your computer?

    Ok thanks. The link worked and I was able to install the 6.0.9394.1 version - however I still dont get any sound...
