Audio stopped working after upgrading win11 to 22H2

Hi,

My audio is not working after upgrading to 22H2. My computer is an ASUS less than one year old. I have tried to reinstall the Realtek driver without solving the problem.

Looking in the devicemanager the Realtek driver has this error after each time I have reinstalled the driver:

Device INTELAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0294&SUBSYS_104313B2&REV_1000\5&205ca6cb&0&0001 had a problem starting.

Driver Name: oem88.inf

Class Guid: {4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

Service: IntcAzAudAddService

Lower Filters: 

Upper Filters: 

Problem: 0x0

Problem Status: 0xC00000E5

Is there any ideas of what I can try to get this working again?

    i installed this version 6.0.9219.1 for testing purposes, by using the device manager .inf file from this folder Codec_9219.1

    Audio is working fine. i tested it I suspect that built-in intel processor audio device driver is missing on windows 11 os, hence audio is not working.

    I have collected different versions of Realtek hd audio drivers and kept them for personal use and for testing purposes.

    All realtek drivers prior to 9151 are vulnerable and should not be used.

    The way I fixed this:

    Right click Windows Start

    Choose Device Manager

    Select dropdown menu in Sound, video and game controllers

    Right Click Realtek(R) Audio and select properties

    Select Driver Tab

    Select update Driver

    Select Browse my computer for drivers

    Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer

    Select High Definition Audio Device

    Click Next

    Once installed Restart PC

    This fixed my issues

    Much appreciated Made_in_England. I followed your instructions and this did (to my surprise (as I thought I'd tried every permutation) offer the invitation of a Driver upgrade for Realtek for the laptop, as you intimated. Post Restart, however, sound still comes through the Iiyama speakers only though. Perhaps I need to adjust Sound settings, too. But something has changed, and I shall report further.

    Now if you know how to make my HP G7 10th Gen CPU Laptop 'stick' with the choice of Second Screen only (Windows Key + P), you will gain an extra Gold Star. (It stubbornly reverts to 'PC Screen only'). Been trying to sort this for months. The Modern 27" Iiyama Red Eagle 2760 is cabled HDMI > HDMI.

    I use Audacity quite a bit. On first connecting the monitor the sound only came through the Altec Lansing Desk Speakers, not the Monitor speakers, which is my preferred option. Later (after updating?) the sound switched to the Monitor speakers, one day when I botted up.

    Following your change above, I have battled to get Audacity back to recording. The settings for it used to be:MME - Stereo Mix Realtek - Stereo (Rec) - Realtek ... but now when I finally found a permutation that workedMMM - Stereo Mix Realtek - Stereo (Rec) - Iiyama PL2760 (set on Mute -sic!) ... and yet the sound still comes out of the Iiyama speakers!
    The Control Panel (Sound) Settings are:
    Speakers (Default Device) i.e. (Enabled)

    Headphones (Disabled)

    Iiyama PL2760 3 Intel (R) Display Audio (Disabled) Yes!

    Other settings tried just lock up Audacity, such that the Timeline won't budge and flickers.
    You can see why I'm baffled.

    W11 21H2 Build 22000.1042 (and I'm holding off from updating to 22H2, currently being offered under Updates because of all this).
