Audio stopped working after upgrading win11 to 22H2

Hi,

My audio is not working after upgrading to 22H2. My computer is an ASUS less than one year old. I have tried to reinstall the Realtek driver without solving the problem.

Looking in the devicemanager the Realtek driver has this error after each time I have reinstalled the driver:

Device INTELAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0294&SUBSYS_104313B2&REV_1000\5&205ca6cb&0&0001 had a problem starting.

Driver Name: oem88.inf

Is there any ideas of what I can try to get this working again?

    For other people who has a problem with Creative drivers since update:

    1. Go to Safe mode with network
    2. Uninstall the driver using the Device manager (do not update it! It does not work)
    3. refresh and check if the driver has been properly installed
    4. reboot back to common mode
    5. drink a beer to celebrate

    I don't know if Asus would recommend that. The ball is in their court now.

    Related issue here with a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16ACH6H, with some Nahimic enhancements. Audio is only working trough the headphone jack but the speakers are dead. Not sure if the culprit is the Realtek driver or some Nahimic component. It worked fine in W11-22H1.

    Speakers work with the default HDA driver, they also work properly under Linux, so definitely not a hardware issue. Lenovo doesn't provide a full driver package for my machine, but only some extensions the driver installed directly via Windows Update, so clearing the driver store doesn't help, since I don't have any alternitve driver to install and/or roll back to. Nahimic and Realtek drivers are the most recent one available.

    Hello, I was having the same problem. I downloaded the Driver Easy program, and it had three driver updates:

    1. Realtek Audio Effects Component.
    2. Realtek Audio Universal Service.
    3. Realtek Hardware Support Application.

    After downloading and installing them on my Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3, I restarted the laptop, and everything was working again. I don't know if it will work for you, but here was the only way it worked for me.

    P.S.: These drivers are located under the "Software Components" section in Device Manager.

    Exactly, thokra1. I've managed to get some decent sound using FxSound, but the absence of sound through the speakers (OK in W10) continues to baffle. I notice that (in Audacity) MS Sound Mapper is now a default following an upgrade - and was the only thing that enabled Audacity to work again.

    i just installed the realtek drivers and reboot but windows reboot installed the generic driver again (stucked in looped). So i just uninstalled the generic driver and selected the checkbox for delete the drivers from system. Then ok to uninstall and installed the realtek drivers and then reboot. It works now.
