Hi,
My audio is not working after upgrading to 22H2. My computer is an ASUS less than one year old. I have tried to reinstall the Realtek driver without solving the problem.
Looking in the devicemanager the Realtek driver has this error after each time I have reinstalled the driver:
Device INTELAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0294&SUBSYS_104313B2&REV_1000\5&205ca6cb&0&0001 had a problem starting.
Driver Name: oem88.inf

Service: IntcAzAudAddService

Problem Status: 0xC00000E5
Is there any ideas of what I can try to get this working again?

I updated my Realtek audio driver manually with the driver listed here: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=realtek%20windows%2011
Windows 11 Client, version 22H2 and later, Servicing Drivers, Windows 11 Client, version 22H2 and later, Upgrade & Servicing Drivers, Windows 11 Client S, version 22H2 and later, Servicing Drivers, Windows 11 Client S, version 22H2 and later, Upgrade & Servicing Drivers
Drivers (Sound)
6.0.9394.1
It downloads as a .cab file, but you can extract the files inside and then go through the Update Driver via Device Manager to use this driver.
And my sound works again.
After W11 22H2 update I also had sound problems with USB external Audio Interface (UMC22) .
There was no problem with bluetooth and headphone jack inputs. After checking the speakers, audio interface and computer cables and restarting the devices, the problem persisted.
I had sound problem only with UMC22 USB Audio CODEC.
I also reinstalled ASIO4ALL 2.15, 2.14 and 2.13 versions but that didn't work either.
When I uninstalled the USB Audio CODEC driver from the device manager and restarted the computer, I could only get an extremely low volume with the headphones.
Finally, I uninstalled Intel Smart Sound Technology for USB Audio and USB Audio CODEC drivers from device manager and all ASIO4ALL installation and restarted my computer.
After the computer was turned on, I just installed the latest version of ASIO4ALL 1.5 and it started working as before.
Hi Rocassa45
Sorry to hear you are still having issues. I don't use Audacity but used to use Ableton Live and used to have lots of issues whenever I had any other sound drivers installed, except the Realtek so I understand how frustrating this is. I think you're right holding off for now. I looked for a solution to your monitor problem but all I could find were that Microsoft had recognised there was an issue and was working on a fix. (Which usually means very little) I updated this morning and suddenly had no sound which was also causing errors using my media players. Fortunately, I remembered when I updated to Windows 11 I had exactly the same problem so I eventually came to try this and it worked. I don't seem to be having any more problems (fingers crossed). Sorry I couldn't be more help. Hope you get it sorted :)
Much appreciated Made_in_England. I followed your instructions and this did (to my surprise (as I thought I'd tried every permutation) offer the invitation of a Driver upgrade for Realtek for the laptop, as you intimated. Post Restart, however, sound still comes through the Iiyama speakers only though. Perhaps I need to adjust Sound settings, too. But something has changed, and I shall report further.
Now if you know how to make my HP G7 10th Gen CPU Laptop 'stick' with the choice of Second Screen only (Windows Key + P), you will gain an extra Gold Star. (It stubbornly reverts to 'PC Screen only'). Been trying to sort this for months. The Modern 27" Iiyama Red Eagle 2760 is cabled HDMI > HDMI.
Later ... as mentioned above
I use Audacity quite a bit. On first connecting the monitor the sound only came through the Altec Lansing Desk Speakers, not the Monitor speakers, which is my preferred option. Later (after updating?) the sound switched to the Monitor speakers, one day when I botted up.
Following your change above, I have battled to get Audacity back to recording. The settings for it used to be:MME - Stereo Mix Realtek - Stereo (Rec) - Realtek ... but now when I finally found a permutation that workedMMM - Stereo Mix Realtek - Stereo (Rec) - Iiyama PL2760 (set on Mute -sic!) ... and yet the sound still comes out of the Iiyama speakers!
The Control Panel (Sound) Settings are:
Speakers (Default Device) i.e. (Enabled)
Headphones (Disabled)
Iiyama PL2760 3 Intel (R) Display Audio (Disabled) Yes!
Other settings tried just lock up Audacity, such that the Timeline won't budge and flickers.
You can see why I'm baffled.
W11 21H2 Build 22000.1042 (and I'm holding off from updating to 22H2, currently being offered under Updates because of all this).
