Windows Fax and Scan, Cannot print faxes to printer

I have been facing this problem for about a week now.

Faxes are working just fine. I can send and receive faxes without problem.

I can save those faxes and then print them if needed. But the problem is that I cannot print them directly from the application as I were able to before. I see the printer being detected by the application but when I hit the print command, nothing happens.

Any help will be appreciated.

    Assuming a Windows Update is required to fix this, this could take weeks, months? So what to do between now and then? As a business we receive lots of faxes, last look we were at about 1600 faxes this year.

    I use a program called Verypdf that automatically converts incoming fax tif files to pdfs. You need to read the verypdf setup documentation, but if I can set it up, I am sure IT people can do it easily. I use a program called AlwaysUp to run VeryPDF as a Windows Service versus a program, that is what works for me.

    Verypdf is an old program, but right now with this Windows Fax and Scan issue we are experiencing, I have a work around to manipulate all my faxes as pdfs without using Print to PDF from Windows Fax and Scan. Finally, as the faxes are saved by VeryPDF as PDFs, I can print the faxes out as normal, as the PDFs are not associated with Windows Fax and Scan.

    Not an answer to the issue, but a very workable bandaid that may be worth looking at. I will use my bandaid workaround until this gets fixed. Uninstalling updates, not sure I want to do that.

    But if someone has a fix, I would love to hear about it!

    Aurgh..........!!!!

    The issue is back again. Even though I tried to block the update that I uninstalled, 2022-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 21H1 for x64-based Systems (KB5017308), using the Microsoft Show or Hide Update app it managed to reload itself on 09/22/22.

    There has got to be a way to keep it from loading on again. I can't continue dealing with this!!!!!! I am going to put a block on all updates for the next 7 days, even though I hate to do that.

    Not that I have a fix, but just want to note same issue here. Fax and Scan was working ok, but now every computer at work can no longer print from Fax and Scan. Click print, no errors but nothing prints. Print to PDF results in a 0 byte file. Problem started about a week ago, All client computers are Windows 11 with one Windows Server 2022 Standard.

    The fact that other people are experiencing the same issue, in roughly the same time frame, makes me suspect a Windows Update issue.

    I assume since deleting the last update fixed my issue tracing my registry won't do you any good. Hope you all are able to fix the update.
