How to disable noise suppression when an application is using the microphone.

Hi,

Whenever an application is using my microphone, all the audio that plays gets suppressed and muffled and nearly quiet, there was an option to disable this before, but I just don't know how to disable it.

Disabling the options such as Audio Enhancements will make it normal for around 2 seconds before it becomes muffled again.

    I have a new dell laptop and the same problem.

    I have spent hours with MS techos going over and over the same thing with no progress. It is just rubbish.

    My new laptop is useless for about half of what I do with it (music zoom and music recording)

    It used to be fine in windows 10!

    This is a problem with a Dell utility, not a Microsoft problem. I had the same problem with my LG laptop. All you have to do is search Google for "Dell Win11 noise suppression." This is what I found:

    https://www.dell.com/community/Inspiron/How-to-disable-background-noise-suppression-for-the-microphone/td-p/8310256 I'm guessing this is the MaxxAudio Pro software's Noise Guard feature. You can turn it off in MaxxAudio Pro's Advanced Options: un-check the box for "Activate Noise Guard".

    AFTER you turn off the Dell noise suppression, you need to change the audio setting in Zoom to "low" noise suppression. This is what I use for my violin lessons on Zoom and it allows the microphone to pick up the violin. But then I have to change back to "automatic" for my other Zoom meetings or everyone can hear the baby birds crying for food in the tree outside my window.

    Hello, I use Windows 11 and I have turned off enhancements and there is still a noise-gate that cuts out the beginning of my speech when doing VO. This happens in both Audacity and the preset recording program on Windows 11. I know it is not my microphone because I can directly hear the audio when I plug my headphones into the mic and it sounds beautiful. Solution please! The cuts are very obvious and are completely lowering the quality of all of my audio :''''( I also have an ASUS laptop not a Dell.

    UPDATE: I found the solution in MyASUS. I had to make an account, go into customisation, and turn off "noise-cancelling microphone".
