How to disable noise suppression when an application is using the microphone.

I do appreciate the info however that was like second on my list a year and a half ago. To date I have literally purchased a brand new computer that only operates my streaming equipment and I have the same exact problem which kind of Narrows things down but the things that I am starting to think are just so crazy because I've tried everything.

I have literally offered people money to try and help me solve this problem because I'm a musician so it would be easier to have somebody live with me so they can hear what's happening and then relay it to me to see if anything I do makes any kind of difference. When I try and play music through my browser meaning I am utilizing my microphone which all my equipment is hooked up to my yamaha piano and my mic After playing a few notes something suppresses my sound to like a weird muffled you can kind of hear it a little bit here and there in the background and then if I stop playing a few piano notes after a second or two you can hear the volume returning because you can hear the background hiss getting louder and then I can play a few notes or try and sing something and it repeats itself like clockwork.

I have tried all of the simple settings allowing things exclusive control not allowing things exclusive control I have tried repairing files but now we are dealing with an absolutely one 100 percent brand new system however my setup is still the same meaning the way I hook my Electric keyboard and microphone into the box that converts my signal to digital which I plug into my computer except everybody uses this product it's the number one product. I'm sorry if I'm confusing things but I think I explained my problem and I have already checked for real tech drivers there are no enhancements the communications tab is set to do nothing I have disabled other drivers as well as went into device manager and deleted all the ghosts. I can go on and on with the things that I have tried but obviously getting a brand new computer with a brand new installation of Windows 11 should have made this problem disappear.

Now on the flip side when I decide to live stream not going through an Internet browser but going through something like OBS where I can stream directly to youtube or Instagram or Twitch once I take the Internet browser out of the picture there is absolutely zero problem except my horrible singing LOL so that tells us that my equipment works perfectly except for a little hum and a hiss because of ground loop issues every musician deals with I know my software and hardware is good unless I somehow reproduced something by installing the drivers that control my FOCUSRITE 2I2 And then obs but these are all the most common used hardware and software and the thing that kills me is and when I search for this issue on Google usually you find a very quick answer which means that I am one in a million for some weird reason and I can find solutions but none of them have helped me.

Please let me take a moment and tell you I appreciate that you have read this far and I hope you are understanding my weird problem. Thank you for taking this time i'm not done though LOL

The top three Internet browsers including edge chrome firefox are basically all the same from what I understand they are chromium based meaning they pretty much operate in the same way. Each of these browsers contain an experimental section, flags so along my year and a half journey of trying to figure this out some solutions the deeper I dive told me to find the echocancellation noise suppression experimental things and disable them. These experimental options seem to be different for each browser and not very easy to search for. I just want you to understand how deep I have gotten into this. And I beg you if you think you may know somebody or a whole team of people that can read this and help me solve this problem I will rename my dog After you since I don't have any children.

I saved this part for last because I think it's the most important because it is a sign of something actually happening. Here are the clues that I have so you can look at these clues and maybe see something that I don't see lord I pray it would be the happiest day.

On this brand new computer setup the moment I went on the Internet utilizing a browser I started with edge because it came with the new windows installation let's say to stream on omegle just a regular Internet site as soon as the browser takes control of my microphone because I give it permission and I make a connection and my microphone becomes active as soon as I play a few notes on the piano windows takes my microphone volume and jacks it all the way up to one 100 percent and I have of course unchecked exclusive control and done all of the simple little things I am pretty technically savvy. I also had this same exact problem with my other computer and these are powerhouse computers within obscene amount of memory nvidia rtx 4070 I7 intel. Keep in mind it does not do this when a live stream without the use of an Internet browser.

I started focusing on getting Windows to stop increasing my volume And it isn't really windows that is doing it it's when I sign onto the browser and play my synthesizer I think it immediately suppresses me but then thinks it doesn't hear anything so it calls for windows to make me louder Or something like that because Windows does not make my volume louder when I am just recording something or when I am streaming without a browser.

I even found a browser extension For chrome and in addition I disabled those experimental Browser flags or whatever you call them I have stopped the volume from being increased Windows doesn't make the slider go up and down anymore However that was a reaction to my problem and the problem still exist when I go online and play my music my sound gets suppressed.

Here is another clue.

If I am live streaming without my instruments just utilizing my regular USB razor microphone when I play radio music in the background that is physically coming through my speakers the people that I am talking to that are in my live stream chat room cannot hear the music it gets completely erased Magically but they can still hear me talk although they say my sound goes in and out.

So something thinks My music is noise even if it is a regular song playing on the radio it suppresses it but vocally it does not do anything.

It's so confusing And this new computer setup is only one week old and I was incredibly careful about installing nothing on it except the things I use to stream which are a few different pieces of software But again my two audio things OBS and my digital converter are used by millions and millions of people.

I know I've said a lot but just remember so many people do this all the time and it works for them and remember all of my hardware and software works perfectly as long as there is no Internet browser in the middle so we can rule out almost everything except My Internet connection which both machines have used but I can't imagine AT&T and I have their super crazy speed fiber so I don't think there's any noise suppression in my router that they hook up because that would affect millions of musicians and I would find it online immediately.

Perhaps you knew the answer after the third paragraph and I've just wasted a lot of your time but if you'd like to make a human being so happy it wouldn't be just by helping me solve this mystery it would be finally giving me a conclusion to this nightmare that I have literally tried over and over the same things in different orders I mean that's how deep I have gotten to where I just spent $2000 that I don't have on a new system that I am financing which will cost me $4000 that I definitely don't have and it's doing the same thing it's crazy.

I beg you if you don't know and do you think I'm some crazy lunatic that should just go away and give up maybe you could print this out and post it in your break room and you can let people know that there is this really cool guy whose wife died from the coronavirus young and he doesn't have any kids and he just wants to play his piano to keep busy And I really just want this mystery to be solved I don't want to just give up I've invested so much into a solution including trying to learn how to code LOL

I just keep saying for myself it works for everybody else what am I missing? Besides a life and a good singing voice?

So, I've spent 3 hours now, going through absolutely everything on this thread I think, but I am still at a loss. The problem - same as everyone else probably - but to specify: Trying to sing and play guitar and record my audio using Audacity, on my Lenovo Legion 5 Pro laptop, running Windows 11 home - but the audio from the guitar is muffled and cuts out, and sometimes also vocals at low volumes. There is clearly some effects in play trying to MUTE the guitar sound, while letting my voice through. Recording at all is but utter pointless.

I am posting, as I haven't seen anyone else mentioning a Lenovo machine, which is what I have.

I've been through the works:

• "Do nothing" in the communications tab
• Disabled audio enhancements in advanced sound settings menu
• I found and uninstalled the Realtek Audio Console (after checking it for noice cancelling functionality, which it didnt have to begin with. But I uninstalled for good measure).
• I've tried using nothing else connected to my laptop, and Ive tried with cabled airbuds with a microphone.
• Checked for lates audio drivers
• Closed Microsoft Teams and anything else I can think of - only running Audacity (recording software).
• Checked for an switched around on everything I can inside Audacity, but on their official forums, it seems there is nothing in that software that can do this while recording, and they are also well aware of this issue with Windows machines in general - suggesting some of the same error fixes Ive seen here on this thread.

Something I have missed in this thread I might not yet have tried? Some special audio software for Lenovo machines that I might not have found on my laptop perhaps? Ive searched, but I could have missed something of course.

My goal - like everyone else: Raw audio input, and nothing interfering with what types of sounds are recorded, and at what sound level. I want to record and hear voice, guitar, my own farts and the fly buzzing in the window. Everything!! :D

NOTE: I SOLVED THIS EXACT PROBLEM - HERE IS HOW I DID IT

1. Open Realtek Audio Console (search in Windows)

• go to "Speakers"
• TURN OFF "Speakers Noise Cancellation (Voice call)"
• go to "Headphones"
• TURN OFF "Speakers Noise Cancellation (Voice call)"

2. If you have the extension (I did) on Chrome, disable "Disable HTML5 Autoplay"

This totally solved my problem after torturing me for months!

Thanks a lot for the reply, and apologies for being slow to reply, but unfortuntately this didn't solve things for me.
As I wrote above; I uninstalled realtec audio console all together. I did first open it and looked for those settings to turn off as you suggest (because someone else had suggested it as well), but I didnt have those settings. It was a rather empty console with few to no choices to be made. I therefore deleted the entire app, just to be sure.
I don't have that extension in chrome as you mention either.
