Icons Keep Disappearing From Taskbar - Windows 11

I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 a few months ago, and ever since I've been having a problem where the icons disappear from the taskbar. It happens while I'm using the laptop as well as when it comes out of hibernation.

I know this can be fixed temporarily by restarting Windows Explorer in the task manager, but this is happening several times a day and it's getting annoying. Is there a permenant fix yet?

I'm using Windows 11 Home version 21H2 build 22000.856 on a HP laptop with an Intel i5 1035G1 processor and 8GB of RAM. The problem didn't exist when I was running Windows 10.

Thanks.

I had animations disabled and that fixed it temporarily (for 1-2 months), but now it works again with animations enabled.

I don't know exactly what fixed it, but I also did install the latest Intel graphics driver recently (31.0.101.2127 from Feb 1st, 2024).

Thanks Leo for the easy fit to get the icons to reappear.

Darren, my issue stopped occuring for several months, but this past week, did it again. I don't know what triggered it.

Thanks Leo. I haven't had the problem in months thankfully. Either a Windows update fixed it or when i changed my graphics card from Nvidia 1060 6gb to an amd 6800 xt.

Having this same problem on my Surface Pro 8, has been an intermittent issue since purchase. Now, it never goes away. Driver install, system check, Windows update, restarting explorer, nothing. Can't even blame this on myself, as I've been using the surface completely normally, and I didn't even make the choice to upgrade. Just hoping my desktop doesn't encounter the same issue.
