Icons Keep Disappearing From Taskbar - Windows 11

I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 a few months ago, and ever since I've been having a problem where the icons disappear from the taskbar. It happens while I'm using the laptop as well as when it comes out of hibernation.

I know this can be fixed temporarily by restarting Windows Explorer in the task manager, but this is happening several times a day and it's getting annoying. Is there a permenant fix yet?

I'm using Windows 11 Home version 21H2 build 22000.856 on a HP laptop with an Intel i5 1035G1 processor and 8GB of RAM. The problem didn't exist when I was running Windows 10.

Thanks.

I am experiencing a persistent issue with my system, even after updating to the latest Windows version. My system runs on Windows 11, version 23H2, build 22631.2715. I use an external monitor connected through DisplayPort v1.2, supporting a resolution of 5120x2160. The problem occurs when my system wakes up from sleep mode. Often, the taskbar is completely empty, with no icons visible.

As a temporary solution, I right-click on the desktop, go to Display settings, then to Advanced Display. Here, I change the Refresh Rate and immediately revert it back. This action brings back all the icons on the taskbar. I've also noticed that manually putting the system into sleep mode results in this issue happening less frequently.

(I have reported this via the Microsoft Feedback Hub).

I have the same exact issue, [...]
https://answers-afd.microsoft.com/static/images/image-not-found.jpgScreenshot of what they broken icons look like... https://imgsh.net/a/K8W7mGI.png

And I know a lot of people said that restarting Windows Explorer from the task manager fixes it for them temporarily but it does not fix the icons for me.

I doubt, thats the same issue we have. Your Icons are displayed wrong but there are icons

Look at the Screenshots from ln Ch to compare. Some of his icons are gone blank.

    It's the same for me.

That why the TaskManager fix wont work for you.

    Version: Windows 11 22H2
I'll add a bit more. When using virtual desktops, it's very easy to encounter this issue, and it has been quite bothersome for me.
