Please bring back the ability to freely arrange icons within folders "DISABLE AUTO ARRANGE"!

I just want to "disable" confounding Auto Arrange files within folders in Windows 10. I can't understand that when you leave file/folder icons in the position and order that you want and then Windows decides to mix them up. I'm continually wasting time trying to find lost data. It's ridiculous. Does anyone know or can create something that just allows you to arrange or sort files within folders, and Leave them alone, without the OS messing them up?

I get pissed off every single time I use my Windows computer. I now use a Mac for my primary device. It actually leaves files exactly where you put them. Imagine that! The Microsoft programmers are morons.

Yes, I wish somebody would create a small software program to create folders that you could store files in any order. That would get Microsoft to take notice.

Hi Europa. I 'm I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

I'm not sure what disable auto-arrange is except for the desktop icons. The order of files in your folders always has been controlled by the Sort by and Group by choices on Explorer View tab.

This is explained here in the best articles about customizing folder view in Explorer:

If this is not exactly what you need, please explain a bit more so I can help you better. Otherwise feel free to ask back questions and keep me posted on your progress as I will be here to help until this is resolved.
