Dave I had my thumbnail previews go away, (had been working fine) about 3 or 4 days ago. I have tried the fix you recommend, and looking at issues involving One Drive, But do not understand how to do those fixes. I do graphics for various organizations need this feature. Please help. Doing my best to seaarch for more fixes.

I had the same problem and only saw icons on Windows 11. Microsoft Support then deleted several files and reloaded Windows 11 and some other new files. The problem was not resolved. I connected an eternal hard drive with photographs and the thumbnails were present. I then noticed that one drive (where the current photographs are stored) was not synced. I then synced one drive and all files then appeared as thumbnails.

I also had this problem when my windows 11 updated, I've fix it for my computer, jus by going to,

folder options, view then click on restore defaults, all my jpg file now show as pictures.
