Canon Printer not responding after windows 11 update. Other Windows 10 PC has no problem printing to same printer

My printer is Canon Ts3151(wireless) but i can also connect with usb to my hp(windows 11) i installed the drive and when it got to test printing,it kept failing despite the good internet network. Stating that it’s not connected to a network and when I eventually finished the process, skipping all that because it was not working. I tried printing and it kept stating error printing. I know I shouldn’t have skipped that process but I’ve been trying all the time for days now. What can I do? I also use a public WiFi

My guess: Like many other manufacturers, Canon had supply chain issues during the pandemic. Canon had to temporarily allow non-Canon ink cartridges to work on its printers. (I was fortunate to source only authentic cartridges.) Now Canon wants to regain control over ink cartridges by "bricking" the affected printers.

Another guess: Some manufacturers brick older technology after a certain time period to encourage the purchase of more of their products.

Regardless of the reasons, my Canon TR8250 ink jet home wireless printer suddenly wouldn't print. Ian's solution (modified for my wireless printer and a Windows 11 operating system) saved the day!

If your WIRED or WIRELESS Canon printer indicates it is connected to your network but it refuses to print anything, try Ian's solution. Uninstall all the Canon software and drivers. Turn off the spooler and then restart it. Restart your computer. Use the on-screen prompts on the Canon printer's touch-screen display to connect your printer wirelessly to your home network. DO NOT INSTALL DRIVERS OR SOFTWARE DIRECTLY FROM THE CANON WEBSITE. Instead, use your computer to have Windows check for drivers.

This workaround likely applies to many Canon printers.

can not see the level of ink in the printer - just disappeared

Thanks for all the help you and Ian provided...but it did not work for me over wifi. I got the wired connection to work, but not wifi.

It says its prints, but nothing happens.

I had the exact same problem as the original poster: my old Windows 10 laptop could print but the new Windows 11 laptop could not. I discovered that when I get the "can't print" error message I can get the printer started by running the printer troubleshooter. Start button > settings > troubleshoot > other troubleshooters > printer. This isn't a real fix but at least it lets you get your job printed.
