Canon Printer not responding after windows 11 update. Other Windows 10 PC has no problem printing to same printer

Steps 1 thru 6 done.

Step 7- I get no audible confirmation. That's a non-issue, because there is no audio device attached (speakers or headphones).

Step 8 - Windows Updates completed, but no selection is presented to view optional updates.

Without a driver installed, of course no printer appears in Device Manager under "Printers," nor does a Canon USB controller appear. Naturally, Devices and Printers shows no printer. Could it be that my system is not detecting the printer via the USB connection?

I changed USB ports. D530/560 appears in Device Manager under "Other Devices." Clicked on that device and searched for driver using Windows Update link. "No driver available. Please use the manufacturer's disk".

My system - Win 10 Home desktop PC using Canon Image Class D530 Laser MF (USB only) printer - FOR YEARS!

It's worth noting that this setup worked flawlessly until a clean Win 10 install on a new SSD. I fought ugly battles to finally get printing to work on my desktop PC, but only after installing Canon drivers. However, I was no longer able to print from my remote laptop. That was one year ago, and nothing has improved. Unfortunately, your very thorough solution process doen't work on my system.

What now?

I think I just got it sorted out. Windows Update found ZERO drivers. I tried using the drivers supplied on the now 10-year old Canon installation disk, and I'm up and running again. The challenge now is to share it with my laptop over wifi like it once worked so well for years. Bottom line, Canon's current drivers are not designed to work as they once did. Something major has changed over the years, and for the worse in terms of system compatibility.

After more than my fair share of Scotch tonight, I have concluded the following - this fiasco is by Canon design - intentional deprication of legacy devices / software in order to increase sales of current products. And that, boys and girls, is doomed to fail. The net-net is lost confidence in the brand, and further erosion in market share.

after updating windows 10 then installing windows 11 my printer ] cannon pixma 970 ] stopped working. i contacted microsoft told them my printer not responding they said delete all cannon soft ware then use cd rom reinstall printer. my desktop won't run the disc
