Can't access bios or advanced startup on windows 11

Yes, appears to be a hardware issue, the way Win11 has UEFI implemented. I had to remove the 3rd party graphics card to get access to BIOS, then updated BIOS and put the graphics card back.

I've experienced the same issues you described above. Otherwise, there is no issue with my computer. It runs smoothly as usual. The only problem is as I cannot enter the BIOS, I cannot update the BIOS firmware, that's all.

I had a new Win11 update and had to go through the same trouble, but I found the solution!

It appears that every Win11 update switches my computer to FastBoot. I have a graphics card, but the monitor was connected to an integrated graphics port, not the graphics card port. The BIOS video settings have 3 options - Auto (default), external and integrated. Auto prioritizes external card. Unfortunately, FastBoot is so fast, that the machine prioritization process fails - the machine does not realize that there is no monitor connected to the external card ports and keeps sending video signal there.

So to solve my problem, I had to find a HDMI-to-MiniDP adapter, connect the monitor to external ports, and either use that setup, or enter BIOS and change video settings to use integrated port. Or buy a monitor with really fast response rate.

This also explains, why I never had this issue on my laptops.

A note to the moderator, the black screen means not a single color pixel of the monitor is turned on. And what is responsible for that? The graphics card/cable, of course! So when you see the black screen, you know that you have arrived at the destination, ie the BIOS page, but the graphic card is unable to show it to you.

I searched the internet all day trying to solve the issues. Finally, I saw the suggestion I should reset the BIOS. After I reset the BIOS, I turn the computer on, it booted the BIOS screen, I made the necessary adjustments, and exited the BIOS, the computer then booted to the black screen again, and the motherboard LCD screen returned a '02' code. Google 02 code for the answer, a few on Reddit said there was something to do with a third party graphics card ect.

Mine is a brand new monitor, it comes with an HDMI cable. But I didn't use it, I used my DP cable which had been already plugged into the graphics card. After reading the above comments, all I had to do is plugging the supplied HDMI cable. And voila, after the computer booted into windows in no time.

Greg, you're a lifesaver. I had been struggling for days unable to even get to bios without getting blue screened.

Unplugging the other SSD's I had in there allowed me to isolate the drive that was giving me the issue and boot normally without even having to do a windows recovery.
