Can't access bios or advanced startup on windows 11

I don't know if its a bug or this is how windows 11 is, I just can't access my bios nor the advanced startup, if I boot the computer and spam the BIOS MODE (delete key) it just goes into a black screen and nothing happens it just stays black as long as I keep it running same thing happens with trying to go into advanced startup after it restarts same thing happens black screen and nothing else no cursor nothing even the monitor goes into power saving mode.

I checked everything from cables to bios updates and nothing

plus it was completely working on windows 10 I can go to advanced startup no problem BIOS no problem

after updating to windows 11 it just doesn't work at all.

also a note that when I boot the computer or press the power button it stays black for 3-5 seconds and then instantly loads windows I don't see the motherboard logo or the modes I can go to before it starts loading windows.

    Hello

    I have the same problem and have tried all the above , nothing works . I cannot get into the Fu**ing BIOS ! This is that bad !

    This is a new problem . This machine previously had no trouble with getting into BIOS .

    Why on earth did they fu** with holding F2 on startup ? or del like we've been doing for decades ?

    The web is loaded with posts of users with the same problem !

    What does microsoft think , people are going to buy new computer because microsoft is holding their PC hostage ?

    There has to be a way to shut off all the gimmicks and put this thing back to something that just worked and didnt try to force people , spy

    and everything else ?

    I recently had to shut off the stupid ONEDRIVE ....AGAIN for the 5th time ! I begin to notice download speeds dropping only to learn the last update switched

    ONEDRIVE back on and what the fu** it was uploading I don't know !

    Don't take any of this ranting as personal . I know you guys are volunteers just trying to help people . You are not responsible for what corporate does !

    I have four monitors I have three 20 inch monitors and one 55 inch monitor which is usually off because I watch movies on it. When I booted up the computer for some reason my G Force 2080 was displaying everything on the 20" monitors in the resolution of the 55 inch. I don't know why it was doing that, it might have something to do with the way it was hooked up where the monitors were hooked up to the graphics card. I went ahead and reinstalled Windows, it wasn't going to hurt anything and it seemed to straighten out the problem because everything's been working properly ever since. Thank you for your help and suggestions I do appreciate it. Although I have no idea what was causing the problem, I was able to get everything working properly by reinstalling windows 11.

    If you want to access your BIOS then remove all of your drives where the OS is installed. Let me know what happened :D

    Reseding cmos battery helped me (taking it out and puting it back in)

    [Solved]

    Issue: Unable to open BIOS or Advanced Start-up options. Presented with a black screen instead.

    After days of looking for solutions, I think I've fixed the issue for myself. The problem for me was with the refresh rate of my display.

    Setup:

    • AMD 5800X
    • Nvidia GTX-1060
    • MSI MAG Mortar B550 Wi-Fi

    Keyboard/Mouse lights indicated that the issue was with the display and not the actual boot screens.

    Fix: I reset the resolution to default and refresh rate to 60Hz in both Windows Display Settings and Nvidia Graphics controller. Then restarted the PC into Advanced Startup options (Shift + Restart).

    Voila! The resolution/Refresh Rate was the problem. I now manually change my resolution/Refresh rate if I need to access BIOS/Advanced Startup Options which is not often.

    Hope this helps a lot of unanswered questions. HMU if you need any extra help.
