MediaTek Wi-Fi 6E MT7922 (RZ616)

MediaTek Wi-Fi 6E MT7922 (RZ616) driver keeps crashing and I get an error message this device cannot start. (code 10). This has been happening pretty often and I have even tried a full factory reset. The issue still persists. I have reinstalled the driver multiple times and still face the issue. The temporary fix is to do a power cycle.

Kindly provide a permanent solution if anyone has one. I am using an Asus ROG Stix G17 (2022) and Windows 11.

For anyone ending up here looking for help with the New AM5 B650 Boards in your custom pc, containing this Wi-Fi Chipset (RZ616), You can use this resolution on these motherboards.

I had this issue after multiple fresh installs of windows 11 and after installing the latest Motherboard drivers.

Device was erroring with code 10, Even after BIOS resets and reflashes to multiple BIOS versions.

As a last-ditch effort, after trying everything I could think of, I decided to try something like what David stated on my motherboard. I performed this power button hold for 60 seconds after unplugging my power supply from the wall. Sure enough, after powering back up and reinstalling the drivers for the 100th time, this time it worked, and Wi-Fi is back up and running.

Thank you David Dev 2015, the forced reset got my system working! As far as updating the driver, I found the best way to do this was to go directly to my device manufacturer's website - in my case, HP. The other websites I found by doing a google search for downloading the driver were all trying to download extra stuff onto my laptop.

Omg it really works. I am replying to you as soon as i tried your method after installing the drivers and performing a power flush. Nothing seemed to work but this helped. Thanks a lot man!

yes, 60 sec power flush is the only thing that works for me too till now, (asus zephyrus duo 16 2022); but its a temporary fix. After a week or 2 the issue repeats and you need to do the power flush again. Also, the wifi does not work well, especially the few days before it totally dies. I keep checking here and various places still hoping for a permanent fix.

I'm considering trying to replace the wifi/network card with another better one, do you guys think this can work?

I am also experiencing this problem, and I have the exact same model laptop as you (Zephyrus Duo 16 2022 GX650RX). Did you end up fixing the problem?

I just ordered an Intel AX210 WIFI card to see if replacing the Mediatek one fixes the issue. So annoyed with ASUS, I spend this much on a laptop because I have a lot of time-sensitive mission critical tasks that need to be done on the go, only for them to cheap out something as cheap as a wifi card. Like you, I can't just waste a few weeks on wiping my laptop and sending it back in for repairs...
