MediaTek Wi-Fi 6E MT7922 (RZ616) driver keeps crashing and I get an error message this device cannot start. (code 10). This has been happening pretty often and I have even tried a full factory reset. The issue still persists. I have reinstalled the driver multiple times and still face the issue. The temporary fix is to do a power cycle.

Kindly provide a permanent solution if anyone has one. I am using an Asus ROG Stix G17 (2022) and Windows 11.

    it didnt work, and i tried to reinstall it, it didnt work also

    YOU ARE A PURE GENIUS !!
    my asus rog strix g17 ( 2 weeks old ) has the same issues with his M7922 wifi card, The 1st one I just reboot my Asus and the wifi card wake up instantly, but this time after 3 reboot i had no wifi. Your answer juste save me . I just screened it , thank's a lot !!

    Btw could you explain me why the wifi card is acting like this ? I don't understand why this is setted up like this if that doesn't work...

    While the solution posted for @Dev David 2015 to do power flush is eventually the answer while no other solution works is great. However this poses another question - why there is a need to do this again and again. On my ROG Strix - this was a consistent problem and many times - Drivers were fine, however WIFI didn't detect any signals. Writing to ROG CEO didn't help either as he didn't even bother to respond and support only said reinstall OS, Reinstall Drivers again and again. Have i paid 2000 USD to keep doing this.

    Nevertheless, this began my journey to uncover what leads to such problem and you would have seen multiple posts. I believe its the poorly written driver which causes this issue and potentially could be problem with hardware as well. Only time will tell if WIFI holds every time when you power your laptop.

    One of the other solution which potentially has worked is to remove manually all the Drivers from C:\Windows\System32\Drivers while booting in safe mode. You should only see these 2 files WIFI_MT7922_patch_mcu_1_1_hdr.bin and WIFI_RAM_CODE_MT7922_1.bin.

    Other file include - mtkwl6ex.sys, mtkwl1.dat, mtkwl3_2.dat, mtkwl3.dat, mtkwl2s.dat, mtkwl2_2s.dat, mtkwl2_2.dat, mtkwl2.dat and mtkwl1_2.dat (I am not sure if you need all the dat files).

    However with these files, WIFI has been stable.

    Please note the WIFI Installer file is named as "WirelessLan_ROG_MediaTek_Z_V3.03.02.0540Sub1_28766.exe".
