I'm on Win11 all patched up and I had the same problem (that Snipping tool opens empty when clicking on the snipp-notifcation).
I now managed to solve it.
It appears to be two MS snipping tools, one that works and one that doesn't.
We need to set the correct one as our default...
Some of the suggestions in this thread describes this, but the naming seems to constantly change so I had a hard time following them.
This is what worked for me...
- Open settings (search from the toolbar)
- Select Apps, and then Default apps
- In the applications section search for "snipp" and open the Screen Snipping option
- Open the Snipping Tool option and select Screen Snipping option and confirm with "Set default"
- When your default looks like this it works
(i.e. when you click on the Snipp-notification the Snipping Tool opens with your snipp ready for mark-up)
