Local Security Authority Protection

I have the security Action badge indicating to me that Windows security Action is required.

I open up by clicking the badge and see the notice that the Local Security Authority Protection is required to be turned on and restart the computer to which I perform those two actions.

After my computer is reloaded the Security Badge still requires me to turn Local Security Authority Protection on, as I have already done.

    To have kept from wasting my time you should have mentioned that in the first place. That would have been quite useful.

    So are we through with this or is there something else you have to tell me? Most likely that would be wasting my time.

    Here is what I did and the badge hasn't come back yet.

    If your situation was like mine where you have that badge on the taskbar giving you a notice Windows Security requires action to be taken.

    You go back to the core isolation area and it shows a message stating things are turned off when actually nothing is turned off.

    So, I fixed that monkey and dismissed the message and low and behold the flag is gone and has not returned. There is a foolish bug within an earlier upload that caused this issue.

    This worked for me and as I said has not returned.

    How is your average end user going to have a clue here?

    A requirement to go into the BIOS to enable SVM in order to clear the error. And zero indicator on the client side what you need to do here or how to do it. Is the average user going to know how to get into the BIOS and resolve this?

    Seems like a fumble to me. I'm sure there was some note somewhere in the security update documentation. But who the hell reads that stuff? On a practical level, this seems like it was poorly handled to me.

    I asked the question about security version updates several weeks ago, never got any answer from MS.

    Had to search the web for an answer on how to enable LSA, and is still not clear, because they have several different ways to enable and control it. šŸ¤

    Typical Microsoft complication of simple affairs. šŸ¤£šŸ˜šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

    This suddenly started to pop on my system tray recently.

    Enabling SVM in the BIOS allowed me to disable, then re-enable this and clear the error.

    MS did something that suddenly required SVM to be enabled and if it wasn't then you got this LSA error in the security center showing up. Previous to this, I had SVM off and it worked just fine no errors.

    Without SVM turned on I couldn't even access the core isolation details and flip the slider switch for this.

    LSA requires SVM, you did not have a problem before because they did not enable LSA till they rolled out latest KB5007651 that installed this version of Security on all machines around March 15, 2023.

    Before that this version of security was only on insider builds, but last week it started also to roll out on public builds.
