hi

i have a fresh installed system, with:

motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming WiFi II

Nvidia 3060 v2

i have a classic 5.1 with 3 connectors, my issue is that only if a game for example cyberpunk 2077 and when i use VLC i can hear that all 5.1 channels are woking fine.

but, everywere else on the system the 5.1 doesn't work, like, firefox, spotify, netflix windows app etc...

i tried to changange some settings but nothing changed, tried to reinstall to, change the drivers but nothing to do.

tried to change setting on the Realtheck Audio Control programm, it's worst the i immagined ... the dB setting, the distance and all whe switches are not working

the only way to change the dB was to change it in the advanced audio proprieties.

My issue is that the surround system is not working with firefox, spotify and onther programs.

I have searched on the web since 1 month, and i'm writing here for desparation, because i can't find a solution for this mistery.

thanks in advice

Pat

    why so rude?

i have tried and tried with all the possible combination and what i wrote some posts ago is the facs after all the testing.

it's not complicated to understand if i say that when i change audio settings in the realtek audio console it changes absolutly nothing.

no one single button works. they do absolutly nothing !

nothing ! nothing changes whatever i try. NOT A SINGLE BUTTON WORKS

Why so rude for you? You have a problem, you asked for help. I pinpointed where the upmix feature in SS3 should be turned on. Go back to page 3 and 4, you were so adamant about you were right and I was wrong. Then a few pages later, now you are pointing about the exact screenshot that I posted on page 1 like you founded America like Christopher Columbus.

It's not complicated to understand to the rest of the world that if you randomly switched things on and off on that screenshot, you would have randomly switched other things on and off --- thus making none of the realtek buttons work at all.

If you go into windows and allow Device Default Effects, in the System-Sound-Properties-Audio enhancements options, do those buttons in the Realtek console have any effect?

I am able to change the volume on individual speakers where if I show Off, nothing happens.

I already know, see my screenshot on page 1.

I can tell you what your problems are --- you don't know what you are doing and you randomly switching stuff on and off.

On page 1, Netflix Windows app didn't work and Cyberpunk 2077 worked.

On page 4, Netflix Windows app worked. On page 7, Cyberpunk 2077 and VLC didn't work.

Why? Because you randomly switched things on and off. Now you are wondering why center channel doesn't work, of course it doesn't work because you swap center and subwoofer channels. Your center audio signal is going to your subwoofer. Your subwoofer audio signal is going to your center speaker.

Go and read back all 8 pages and you will understand that I am the only person here on this thread to actually know what I am talking about from my first comment on page 1.

You re-installing the OS and the drivers are not going to work because you don't know what you are doing. I do not think that you have a software problem. You have an end-user problem. Not only do you not know what you are doing, you have to argue with me about it on page 3 about the existence of upmix in SS3 --- which you clearly didn't know the existence because you never included in your initial screenshots.

Your computer cannot be fixed because you cannot be fixed. It is an end-user problem.
