If you also can't do it in chrome and edge browser, then it is a sonic studio 3 issue. Simple as that.
Windows 11 surround 5.1 doesn't work on the back channel
hi
i have a fresh installed system, with:
motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming WiFi II
Nvidia 3060 v2
i have a classic 5.1 with 3 connectors, my issue is that only if a game for example cyberpunk 2077 and when i use VLC i can hear that all 5.1 channels are woking fine.
but, everywere else on the system the 5.1 doesn't work, like, firefox, spotify, netflix windows app etc...
i tried to changange some settings but nothing changed, tried to reinstall to, change the drivers but nothing to do.
tried to change setting on the Realtheck Audio Control programm, it's worst the i immagined ... the dB setting, the distance and all whe switches are not working
the only way to change the dB was to change it in the advanced audio proprieties.
My issue is that the surround system is not working with firefox, spotify and onther programs.
I have searched on the web since 1 month, and i'm writing here for desparation, because i can't find a solution for this mistery.
thanks in advice
Pat

2022-12-26T17:28:35+00:00 another update
asus support told me that for the spotify 5.1 issue and firefox 5.1 issue is their compatibility issue.
but for the other issue that the dials and options on sonic studio 3 and realtek audio consol doesn't work, still talking to them.
i contacted the spotify support and they opened a ticket to theyr specialist. they contacted me, and now let's see where this is going.
keep you updated.

2022-12-22T13:21:08+00:00 just an update
I contacted asus, they are analyzing the issue, the first respons that i recived from the tecnical support is that "it's a firefox and spotify issue".
In reality firefox and spotify aren't detected in the sonic studio 3, so the software did not detect the application.
Teoretically, sonic studio 3 shall detect all software that use audio output, but it doesn't.
The 5.1 setting in the realteck audio control software doesn't work and the settings in the sonic studio 3 doesn't work.
i'm waiting a response from the asus support. i will keep you updated.
atm no solution
p.s the asus comunity support is still down :S really strange

2022-12-07T11:05:49+00:00 You should allow the apps to have exclusive control of the audio. You should also toggle the enhance audio off and then back on (make sure that it goes back to the on position) in the last option.
If that doesn't help, take it up with asus because it is a sonic studio iii problem.
Hi :)
Sadly it doesn't work either.
i have opened a ticekt directly with the asus support, i hope that they contact me soon.
