I am attempting to enable audio equalization for windows 11. I followed a video tutorial, by downloading the latest Realtek audio driver, then opening my sound settings and enabling the equalizer. I am not given this option. I see no equalizer selection in my sound settings. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

bigbeardedbuddy.

I see. Yes, Windows reinstall the default. If you haven't tried the Realtek audio driver provided on the laptop manufacturer's website, please try that. If you already try it and the issue still persists, you can either contact the laptop manufacturer's support so they can assess the situation or get in touch with a Microsoft agent so they can remotely access your laptop to check. You can use this form to create the support ticket.

I downloaded FxSound which is pretty good. It annoys me you can-t "not use it". It defaults your speakers to FxSound enhancer and you cannot change it from the system tray. Apart from that, it's pretty good. It even lets you modify each column's frequency independently, so you have loads of options, apart from obviously allowing you to save presets.

Seems it's another feature of previous Windows versions that's come up missing; They've taken away several things I used a lot.

My new Windows 11 HP AIO does not have the good old cheapie EQ device. Guess there's other ones out there.

JosephT71, you don't offer any solutions and you are an example of what is wrong with people on the Internet. If the damn equalizer was easy to get to, halfway intuitive, and didn't involve a ****-ton of troubleshooting, then there wouldn't be a bunch of people trying to figure out how to get to the fxxking equalizer in Windows 11.

We just want to turn on 1 equalizer.. We can't seem to be able to get to any of them.. I have a Dell Precision 5770 laptop.. I've installed all the drivers.. the equalizer isn't there. The equalizer seems to have disappeared from damn near all audio apps and devices lately.. and we all remember equalizers being built-in components of almost any audio device or application.

The situation is frustrating.. Windows 11 is horrible garbage - but at least it should have an audio equalizer.. or at least it should be able to get to if a 3rd party application is available.
