The security log is now full (Windows 11 Only)

Hi all,

Need your help, all devices that i monitor using windows 11 will hit the error (The security log is now full - Event ID 1104.) Need your advise for solve this problem

Temporary solution

  • I clear log and overwrite in event viewer but still happen back on the next day.

    This morning I had to empty and reset properties. 3 months into this and nothing from Microsoft or Google. How Sad.

    We are also experiencing this issue. Clearing logs and setting to "Overwrite as needed" while logged in as local admin, setting reverts to "Do not overwrite events". Change as logged in user - same behavior.

    We are currently investigating GPO, but there doesn't seem to be anything explicitly defining this setting.

    This is the only GPO work around that i have seen for this issue,
    But this is not preferable, because it looks like this is happening because something (chrome/edge) is logging to much information , in these logs.
    Computer configuration > policies > windows settings > security settings > event log >

    Retention method for security log As needed
