Winre driver letters from bootable media can be different than in Windows.

You should not have to change Windows Boot Manager unless there are serious drive configuration problems that need to be sorted, and are frequently the cause of slow startup.

How did you Upgrade to Windows 11 exactly? Was it via Windows Update, an in-place Upgrade using Upgrade Assistant or ISO file, or a Clean Install? Were there problems with the previous OS?

Hi Greg - I've seen you on this forum previously and appreciate the work you do for us. Here's the screenshot you requested. I upgraded in place in an attempt to fix a system freeze problem, which it did not solve. The freeze happens every 73 seconds for 1.5 seconds. Very weird. I've been working on that problem for a month and have a long running thread in the forum for this.

The disk configuration is correct.

I'll give you possible fixes for freezes that are working in Windows 11, if not steps to check over the system and hardware most thoroughly which should find and fix most problems. Take your time as there is no hurry, what's important is being thorough. We often find out later a skipped step is the fix. I am here to help until it's resolved.

Go over WIndows 11 with this checklist to find and fix problems:

2. Update your drivers from the PC maker's Support Downloads webpage for your exact model. While there check for the latest Chipset, BIOS, Sound, Network, USB3, Bluetooth and all other drivers to compare with the version/date installled for that device in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu.

If the drivers are not present or not working for Facial Recognition or Fingerprint then contact your PC manufacturer's Support.

3. Expedite install of all Windows Updates in Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for Updates, including needed restarts, then go back to check again until no more are offered.

Then go into Microsoft Store app > My Library > Get Updates and expedite all Store app Updates, too, until no more are offered.

5. Establish a Clean Boot to turn off Startup Freeloaders that can conflict and cause issues: https://www.makeuseof.com/clean-boot-windows-11/
6. Download, install and run a full scan with free Malwarebyes from https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/ after enabling Root Kit scan in Scan Settings. Clean Up anything it finds and then run again. Turn off Real Time trial in Control panel to keep as on-demand scanner.
7. Run System File Checker/DISM in WIndows 11 to find any fix any broken System files:

HARDWARE TESTS -

1. Test the memory using WIndows Memory Diagnostics by typing it is Search, open as Administrator and run.

If problems are found then test the RAM overnight to stress it with the best bootable test memtest86, following this guide to test both sticks and slots:

HP and Dell have hardware diagnostics triggered by tapping the ESC or F12 keys respectively as you power on.

Thanks for your suggestions. I've determined that at the time of the momentary freeze one or more dllhost.exe host get kicked off, then exit. I've done a LOT of troubleshooting, the problem has persisted through the process of replacing all hardware except the motherboard and drives, eliminating all startup apps, pulling all peripheral, going from Windows 10 to Windows 11 etc etc. A Google drive folder has saved info from Process Explorer.

Auggie hasn't responded since my last post so not sure if he's still involved. If you have the time and inclination you could join the fun.

When you didn't reply to Auggy in 2 days it removed the thread from him - this can happen if it's assigned to an Independent Advisor, although everyone else can see and join the thread too.

Please continue with all steps I gave as they will almost always find and fix the problem, also by reporting back results as you go it can give me leads for other steps to suggest.
