To fix this problem for the moment you need to reset your pc, there is no other way. I was forced to reset because I also got a blue screen error. It will be necessary to re-install hello face plugin (In case of Lenovo).
Fingerprint reader not working on Windows 11: "This option is currently unavailable"
I recently got a Dell Inspiron with Windows 11 preloaded. The fingerprint reader was working fine at first, but now it appears to not be working with windows hello. The option to add a finger or remove the fingerprint are greyed out and not clickable.
I've seen posts about this issue in Windows 10, but the fixes aren't working for me.

2022-09-18T15:03:33+00:00 Nothing worked for me, until I uninstalled AND also physically removed the fingerprint scanner, and plugged it into another USB port. It didn't work there either, but then plugging it back into the original port seemed force some kind of refresh, and suddenly it is an available Windows Hello option again.
