Windows 11: Thumbnail previews do not show on folders

My folders are appearing as blank folder icons, where in Win 10 they showed thumbnail previews of the contents.

I've searched online for answers, and most appear to apply to earlier versions, and tell me to uncheck the 'icon only, no thumbnail' choice in View|Options, but that is already unchecked, so that is not the answer.

Does anyone have an actual working answer? Thanks if you do!

    That is great news! Do you have any idea how long it likely will be before that reaches mainstream Windows Update? I'd be open to playing on my home-base machine, but I'm on the road too much just now to take chances with the laptop....

    My simple solution was to UPgrade to a dual boot Windows 10 and & configuration with all my space taking programs on separate drives.

    Win10 on 500GB ssd, Win7 on 500GB ssd, all TV video on A: 8TB drive, all Movie video on G: 8TB drive and all programs on E: 8TB drive.

    And sorry but I do not want to hear another person try to tell me how great it is when an OS takes away just about all the features I used in favor of being something I do not.

    Windows 11 is buggy at best and designed by geeks for geeks. It seems they have taken over everywhere in the cyber world. Even my long used Mozzila FIreFox is no longer designed with the end user in mind but with the geek crowd in mind.

    And yes I call it an upgrade to rid my world of Win 11.

    It's all good, I ment know disrespect.

    I'm an Electronic's design engineer and I need to "quick view" what is in the many folders I have. I've built 100's of equipment and need to just "glance" and not waste time hunting for the correct folder that is storing my schematics or projects. Past or present.

    All the best getting Microsoft to reinstate this command to Win11
