Windows 11 | No Hands free mode for bluetooth earphones

Hi,

So, yesterday I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 and everything seemed to be working fine until I connected my bluetooth earphones.

When you connect your bluetooth earphones you expect to see two output devices, Headset (music) and Hands-Free mode (voice) but I can only see the Headset mode.

I checked the earphone properties from the Device Manager and I can see "Hands-Free telephony" in the Services tab but in the Output Devices, the hands-free mode is not visible at all.

I've tried everything from re-connecting to reinstalling drivers but nothing seems to be working.

This is preventing from attending any Meetings on apps like Google Meet or Microsoft Teams.

Any help would be much appreciated!

    This is all absolutely ridiculous and needs needs NEEDS to be solved ASAP as possible. We need an official statement about whether the effed-up state of Bluetooth profile selection in Windows 11 is something Microsoft is aware of and working on.

    I have had this exact issue for the past month and i didn't know why (because I used my BT headphones fine for MONTHS.)

    MY FIX (If you have intel and use/update with their drivers. Specifically me updating using Intel Driver & Support Assistant)

    • Go to Device Manager
    • Bluetooth
    • DELETE Intel Smart Sound Technology

    (I kept the Intel Smart Sound Technology under the actual sound settings because i don't trust it not breaking)

    • Restart your PC

    This should allow Windows 11 to auto switch to hands free without issue. I finally fixed it after a month of trying to figure out why this was happening. Hope this helps!

    My computer is running server so i can't trans its language into English now. So I google translated it, maybe different from system text:

    This is how I solved it: Find the "'Settings' application"->System->Sound->All sound devices->Input devices->Your headphones->General->Audio, change this to not allowed.

    After a while, the headset will automatically switch from handsfree mode to stereo mode. The price is that you cannot use the microphone that comes with the headset.
