I recently updated to Windows 11. I have a LG 34 inch ultrawide monitor (21:9 aspect ratio, 2560x1080 resolution). Windows 11 selects the generic Pnp monitor driver, which has a max 1920x1080 resolution, so the screen is fuzzy and stretched out - really unusable. LG does not have an updated driver, Windows 11 has all updates installed has no updates available related to this driver and it will only select this as the recommended resolution.
Is there no support for 2560x1080 HDMI monitors in windows 11?

After trying several suggestions about updating driver but did not work, I finally for this solution that works for me: Instead of using HDMI to HDMI or USB-C to USB-C, I tried Display Port to USB-C cable, guess what: It works! Give it a try everyone. My setup is: Dell Inspiron & LG 38 Inch Ultrawide.
If you are using an adapter, make sure it can support high resolution. I had an adapter that could handle 4k at 30 hz that did not work but I just purchased a new adapter that supports 4k at 60hz that works up to 3840x2160 on my computer
I have a Dell XPS that only has USB-C ports. I was using a USB-C Hub with an HDMI adapter on it to connect to the monitor. The hub could only support up to 4k at 30 hz. I bought a new adapter that can support up to 4k at 60 hz and immediately the recommended resolution of 2560x1080 appeared.
Same, awful problems with wide lg 38. Display is practically unreadable and the gates of hell is chuckling; baited them, once again, into major hardware and software expenses & what they got? - windows 11......
if LG monitor comes with driver means, install the monitor driver and install the the latest graphics card driver for GPU. download it from intel or and or from motherboard manufacturer site.
