I am having the same problem. Each time i try the install goes a bit further until today when it just stopped, backed out the changes and rebooted. I saw 0xc1900101 error in Windows Update.
Hope there is a solution soon.

I am trying to install the new Windows 11 update from Windows Update, but I keep getting error 0xc1900101.
The installation starts, and after a couple restarts, it says:
" Attempting to recover installation "
" Undoing changes made to your computer "
And then I am greeted with error 0xc1900101 on Windows Update.

I am a Computer I knew the ultimate solution. I had to clean reinstall the Windows 10 using Media Creation Tool and then I installed the updates, Hence I am writing this using Windows11!

2021-07-22T17:12:33+00:00 I appreciate your comment, but. I have 750 GB of data and 30 applications. I am not about to bring my computer back to the state it was when I bought it, just to enjoy the new features of Windows 11.
I will wait for Microsoft to enhance their installation program so it isn’t bothered by Silly things like applications and data and drivers and peripheral devices!
