I am trying to install the new Windows 11 update from Windows Update, but I keep getting error 0xc1900101.

The installation starts, and after a couple restarts, it says:

" Attempting to recover installation "

" Undoing changes made to your computer "

And then I am greeted with error 0xc1900101 on Windows Update.

I got notified on 3rd April 2022 that my Dell Inspiron 7506 2n1 was once again capable of being upgraded to Windows 11, so I thought, I will try again. Amazingly, this time it worked flawlessly, and unlike the previous "successful" attempt in September 2021, this time I am still running Win11. Clearly, the excessive delay in fixing the drivers finally worked.

My Dell Inspiron 5491 2n1 has all the recent updates from Dell. Windows Update says it can run Windows 11 but no longer offers the update through Windows Update. I tried updating using the .iso from Microsoft but it still fails and rolls back to Windows 10, now with no error code.

I waited until the notification came within Windows Update that the upgrade was ready before I finally attempted the upgrade.
