Cannot install Windows 11 - Error 0xc1900101

i have same problem I tried to reinstall several times but still problem in getting all the time .i also delete softwaredistribution several time but problem is at it is

I got the error the first time, but the second time it installed without problems.

It has to do with drivers, I think the problem occurs when windows update installs the 22000.51 preview build.

At some point about when it reaches the 94% it goes through ALL your files on the installation drive - it can take forever, mine took 8-10 hours before it went on from the 94% mark.

So you need to disable as much as you can of what's might be using drivers and accesses the installation drive during the windows update installation.

If windows has not catagorized the driver corrertly, due to the fact it was in use, then after the restart, the installation will not be able to handle the driver files correct and it fails due an driver error (0xc1900101)

If I'm wrong in any way, pls correct me - this is all based on my own experience with installing the 22000.51 preview build

Interesting theory. Disabling devices/drivers seemed to work for you, but I have disabled all 3rd party applications that start with a boot (doing a clean boot), disabled 3rd party antivirus/security stuff, uninstalled stuff that I could not disable, and loaded the very latest drivers for the AMD chipset and AMD graphics my motherboard is using, but have had no luck. Still waiting for a suggestion from Microsoft or a patched version of the installer to fix this. My install and rollback took less than 1/2 hour, but I am using very fast hardware (NVMe with PCIe ver. 3.0 drive for a boot drive).

How I worked around the problem:

• I disconnected all other drives than the main SSD drive
• Then did a clean install of the latest Windows 10 ISO available
• Before any drivers were able to be installed I subscribed to the dev channel immediately and installed Windows 11 as soon as possible (before other updates). Some updates managed to get co-installed while Windows 11 was downloading, but I tried to minimise the number of them that got installed.
• This eventually led to me being able to complete a successful installation.

I suspect that '0xc1900101' error is related to either:

• "Incompatible" (arbitrary or otherwise) drivers on a "thick" installation (i.e. with many updates)
• The installer confusing which is the main drive

I am also getting the 0xc900101 error, We are updating a lady's home computer, from work. She had set herself up to get Insider builds. We took another computer that was the same model, installed Windows 10 then set the correct Insider update selection we ran Windows update until Windows 11 was ready to download. Windows 11 installed fine at that point.

The reason that I am posting this is that I have a couple of questions.

1. Could the problem be some update that has been previously downloaded and applied?
2. We have users that may have set themselves up to receive Insider updates is there way to block Windows 11 preview update?
