I am trying to install the new Windows 11 update from Windows Update, but I keep getting error 0xc1900101.

The installation starts, and after a couple restarts, it says:

" Attempting to recover installation "

" Undoing changes made to your computer "

And then I am greeted with error 0xc1900101 on Windows Update.

I'm at the point where I resolved the TPM 2.0 issue stopping my Windows 11 install attempts, but am now faced with my 7th gen CPU (I7-7700K) being unsupported in Win11.

Hmm, my NUC is a 5th gen i7. So you're saying that's why I can't get Win11 to install? That does seem like a bad idea ...

OK, since my post above about Windows 11 not supporting 7th- gen Intel CPUs and several failed attempts at installing, my PC now has Windows 11 Preview 22000.100 installed.

The third-party compatibility test WhyNotWin11 showed me yesterday that my CPU (I7-7700K) was not compatible. This afternoon I discovered I'm running Windows 11! Seems it was automatically installed from the WIP Beta channel.

****? I just don't understand what's going on with MS.

The Beta and Release Preview channels weren't showing up for me yesterday, but I see them now. Just switched to Beta and will see if that helps. Thanks for the tip.

I started with a fresh Windows 10 install on my Surface Go Laptop and ran every update asked for, joined the Insider program (Dev Channel) but am unable to progress and getting this error.

Might try beta channel next and see if that gets me in to 11?
