Cannot install Windows 11 - Error 0xc1900101

I am trying to install the new Windows 11 update from Windows Update, but I keep getting error 0xc1900101.

The installation starts, and after a couple restarts, it says:

" Attempting to recover installation "

" Undoing changes made to your computer "

And then I am greeted with error 0xc1900101 on Windows Update.

    I didn't know what you were talking about anyway.

    What frustrates me is that I have been getting notifications since May that my 1909 version of Windows 10 has expired and is no longer supported. As if I got any support from Microsoft on Windows before that point in time. They only have a telephone for business clients, not those of us who use their "technology" for home/personal.

    I have tried a few suggested fixes, run the Troubleshooter many times (BTW, it continues to say, Last Time Checked: Never).

    I use the Windows Update tool and actually get through the entire download. Then I check my version in About and it still says 1909.

    But each time I review the Download History under Settings, it shows a new and different error code. Never the same one twice.

    Super ridiculous.

    Meanwhile Microsoft continues to ask if I'd like to buy some more software.

    Right.

    Shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. Install failed with a green screen of death, same 0xc1900101 error.

    Ok, wow. Open mouth ... insert foot.

    A colleague pointed me to tpm.msc and on my NUC, it was showing NO TPM. So I checked the BIOS ... and the Intel Platform Trust Technology was disabled, so I turned it back on.

    Boom, tpm.msc shows I have a TPM 2.0 chip on my 2015 NUC after all!

    So I'm trying the 10.0.22000.100 preview install again from Windows Updates. Bet it works this time.

    I completely agree. Without any level of details, we high-end users are left clueless. I do not like to be forced to be clueless.

    It is like my car having one dashboard light. Am I low on fuel or oil or antifreeze? Is there a failure with the ABS or spark plugs or emissions? I do not want to rip my car apart to find out what is wrong. I do not want to service everything to fix one problem. SAME HERE WITH MICROSOFT. Just give me something more than a code that states I GIVE UP AND YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN - BUT HAVE A NICE DAY.

    Another one in the same wagon... What is upsetting me is that we do not have a clue (log) of what is causing this. I wish Microsoft don't keep this as a blind beta test. I'm not asking for an immediate solution, just an understanding on how to move this on.
