I am trying to install the new Windows 11 update from Windows Update, but I keep getting error 0xc1900101.

The installation starts, and after a couple restarts, it says:

" Attempting to recover installation "

" Undoing changes made to your computer "

And then I am greeted with error 0xc1900101 on Windows Update.

I would follow your guidance if it weren’t for the fact that I have 750 GB of files and folders and too many applications to want to go through the hassle of spending a day installing and restoring all of this.

I would suggest just give up on any of these developer or beta windows 11 downloads. It is enormously problematic and impossible to diagnose the issue. Just say no.

Beta and Dev are both on the same build. If you are hitting issues, please log them in Feedback Hub.

My issues are all with the Beta Channel.

I tried switching to beta mode to get Win11 and, after installing a couple of Win10 updates, this worked fine.
