Cannot install Windows 11 - Error 0xc1900101

I am trying to install the new Windows 11 update from Windows Update, but I keep getting error 0xc1900101.

The installation starts, and after a couple restarts, it says:

" Attempting to recover installation "

" Undoing changes made to your computer "

And then I am greeted with error 0xc1900101 on Windows Update.

    Hi all,

    This may be of use to some on here trying to solve the 0xC1900101 error - which I had as well.

    What I did to solve it:-

    Ran DISM to check for errors with current windows install - came back fine.

    I then used msconfig with admin privileges to stop all running services apart from Microsoft services,

    and I also then stopped all start up programs from running via Task manager.

    I then tried installing using the iso file and running the setup from the iso.

    I was able to update to build 10.0.22000.132, and once this was installed I then ran windows update

    which updated me to build 160.

    Have not had an exhaustive look/try of the system yet but all seems well. I should add that I had to add a TPM module to my machine otherwise it would not install. For those wondering I have a Intel 5960X cpu and 32Gb ddr4 ram.

    Hope this helps some of you.

    10.0.22000.132 tried to install again tonight ... it failed still, but for the first time I got a different error code: 0x80248007 instead of 0xc1900101.

    I see now there's a new build out (10.0.22000.160) so I'll let that one fail too. :)

    I went to the disk manager.

    Downsized the one partition to create a new 200gb area.

    I downloaded the windows installer from Microsoft, and ran it in the new partition - Drive D in my case.

    I booted from drive d using the BIOS

    Entered the Windows Insider and Update features.

    It installed, on the clean drive, Windows 11.

    I don't get the option to install in a different partition. How did you do that?
