    Just managed to clean install the stable version on the 6th gen test rig. As far as I can see everything seems fine and is updating with no problems and this is with TPM 2.0 and secure boot on as they recommended. So as far as no updates and no security updates for unsupported PC's particularly where the CPU is concerned, I'm smelling a fair amount of BS.

    I could be wrong but I think there was a security vulnerability that the 7th gen and below has that the 8th gens and above don't which is why I think they chose to do it this way. I have a HWinfo report which compares the 6th gen 6100, 7th gen 7700K and 8th gen 8100 if anyone wants to take a look.
