Windows 10 mail printing on one quarter of page

Today, I printed an email from Windows 10 Mail.  The Mail app version is Version 16005.13426.20316.0.  I printed by clicking the "..." at top right, then selecting Print.  I was printing to letter sized paper.  Print preview looks normal.  However, when I print, the print is compressed into 1/4 of the page, and is so tiny as to be illegible.  The entire page prints in the top left quarter of the paper.

Printing a test page is normal.

Print from Word is normal.

I have tried more than one emails from Mail, and they print the tiny version to the top left quarter of the sheet.  It happens whether I print on one side or double-sided.

Here is the print preview (normal).

Here is a scan of the paper sheet.  The actual printout is only in the top left corner.

Seems like an issue with a recent update, we have had 2 machines reported with the same problem. No known solution just yet.

A few people have mentioned that this seems to be specific to HP printers, but I disagree. We have the same issue when printing to PDF.

I have a Epsom XP452 and  have the same infuriating problem. Spent hours on it with no luck. Hopefully there will be a solution soon.

I contacted Microsoft again today and finally got through to the right person. Here is her reply.

Thank you for the information Jim, with your built version I confirm that you have the same issue because we've been receiving same issue with customers who has the same built version. We also notify our software engineers and they are currently working on the resolution . The fix will be applied on the update release which you will be notified. For now the best recommendation that we can give you is either use another app to access your email to print what you need or open it through your browser.

Glad to hear that someone else uses Open Office. It's perfectly adequate for me, and I have never had a problem with it not working. Neither do I wish to pay a fee to use MS Office.

You are welcome. That's resourceful to find a workaround while MSFT is hopefully hard at work on it. Good going.

Thanks for that.  I hope MS works quickly on this.  The copy and paste workaround can be ugly, depending on what you're trying to print, ie. invoices.  (I don't have the MS Office Suite - Word - I don't want to pay a yearly fee to MS to subscribe so I use Open Office - I don't think that's a problem when copying and pasting though).

I have a Canon MX922 and just did the update too.
