WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

    Oi MICROSOFT!!! You're at it again, killing my system with this WaasMedicAgent rubbish. YOU MUST DISABLE THIS DENIAL OF SERVICE JUNK IMMEDIATELY.

    REMEMBER THE LEVEL OF SYSTEM YOU PUSHED WINDOWS 10 ONTO WHICH RAN WINDOWS 7 ABSOLUTELY FINE? As low spec as single core computers with HDDs (one of my parents computers are crippled with this W10 junk). COMPUTERS WITHOUT SSDs ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RESPOND WHEN THIS AND OTHER THINGS LIKE WINDOWS UPDATE AND COMPATTELRUNNER ARE RUNNING FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME WHEN THE USER LOGS ON!!!! SIMPLE STUFF, DON'T FIGHT THE USER FOR RESOURCES. HEADS NEED TO ROLL. YOU'VE MESSED UP BIG TIME.

    Simple example for the simpleton product managers and developers at Microslug: Open Visual Studio 2019, open a very simple C# solution and compile it. 5 minutes 30 seconds with this WaasMedicAgent junk going on! Mcflyyyyy HELLLO??

    EDIT: Carried out the same test WITHOUT WaasMedicAgent junk going on and it takes 66 seconds to open VS2019, open the same solution and compile it. This is exactly 1/5 of the shocking amount time it takes with WaasMedicAgent running. SORT IT OUT!

    I've have not been as hard hit as some postings, have had it running on boot sometimes, things are slow but not at a halt, usually lasts for 5-10 minutes then running as normal. It is definitely got some connection with errors when auto mid term Windows Updates fail to download. Monthly updates download & install with no problem (so far any way). Seems a bit of chicken & egg - is the download of WUD's at fault causing WAAS to run or is Update Health Tools problematic, bearing in mind there has been 2 updates (KB4023057) since late January? If a number of us are experiencing issues, surely this points to a Microsoft problem! I originally noticed the WUD error in November & December, strangely, both on mid term WUD's received on 1st of the month. The next on 3rd February then again on 25th Feb - all were for update net.framework . 17th Feb error again for removal of Flash - did not notice WAAS running. Also noticed since mid December had automatic creation of restore point notated as Windows Module Installer.

    Thank you for your post about Update Health Tools. I now have that app on my system. It was installed (or updated) on my Win 10 Home version 20H2 system on Feb. 21 with MS update KB4023057. I did some reading about this on other forums. KB4023057 is a MS update for Windows 10 update service components. It has been installed - more than once - on various versions of Windows 10.

    From my reading the MS update health tools app provides the information you can view here: Windows 10 Settings.....Update and security.....Windows security....device performance and health.

    So what does all this mean for WaasMedic agent slowing down system performance? The KB4023057 update that MS sent the third week of February may be related or may have caused some systems to slow down during or after the update. In other forums the Feb 2021 KB4023057 update got installed by Microsoft without requiring any system reboot, which is required for the monthly cumulative updates.
