WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

Thanks,

Paul...

This is all like the crime dramas & reality programmes on TV. The criminal is caught red-handed, at police interview under questioning, only reply is 'No Comment'. Why do MS not respond? People are reporting back on Feedback Hub as REQUESTED, why do MS at least acknowledge and update us as to progress in analysing this data and progress in finding a cure. This would make a good CRIME drama - are MS in fact GUILTY of this crime? This issue was first reported on this thread in January this year, other non MS threads even earlier.

Yes as we've been saying for months M$ decided it would be a good idea to optimize Win10 to run off of SSDs effectively making systems that shipped with Win10 and HDDs obsolete. I don't know if they're in collusion with SSD manufacturers or they just decided to make their OS less efficient on their own. WaaS Medic will still run an your SSD it just won't read all those files. Requiring your system to read those hundreds of thousands of files on an HDD is the way M$ is making it attractive for you to upgrade to an SSD and it worked. Well done M$. But not everyone can shell out the money to upgrade every one of their systems to SSDs. Installing Linux is free and it doesn't spend all day grinding away at your hard drive.

None of these links had any useful information about this issue and were almost a decade old and referenced extremely old versions of windows. The solution to delete those folders came from another microsoft feedback post.
