WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

    So before overwriting Win10 on my laptop and replacing it with Kubuntu Linux I decided to do a fresh install of Win10 21H1 to see if that improved performance. It does boot faster but this morning Win 10 starting grinding away at the HDD for over 10 minutes on a fresh install of Win 10 less than 24 hours old. There are no other program installed on it and I removed all the bloatware I could. I had rebooted it several times yesterday and no high disk usage so it's obvious that M$ has chosen Sunday as the day they will take over our systems. 21H1 also required me to log into a M$ account in order to install. Not that big of a deal since I have accounts but what if I want to sell that system? So now M$ is trying to keep us from even selling our old systems since they will be tied to our personal accounts? With Win 11 not being able to run on most older systems and Win 10 only being supported until 2025 it's obvious the only solution is to drop the M$ malware called Windows and use Linux.

    I think you are correct and what you are doing and suggesting seems to be the best way to go altogether. I feel that very soon we will all be charged 'By The Year' If it sounds a bit far fetched, just mark my words on that thought - only time will tell.

    Same as years ago when Windows 8 was being pushed. Had a computer on with XP, running with no problems, monthly LUDs taking 20 minutes or so to install. Suddenly, began to take over an hour, many reports to same happening from loads of users.. Gradually got even worse, eventually forced to replace computer running version 8. Strange how this sort of thing happens when MS have new OS in the pipe line, old operating systems suddenly become obsolete although MS still 'support' !

    WaasMedic will show as stopped in services , this is because this is a scheduled task. This will show in scheduled tasks as running from 3:00 am every 7 days on a Sunday. Booting after 3:00 am will then send a trigger to the WaasMedic app to run shortly after boot. If you open actual services, this will listed as Manual, i.e., task scheduler will effectively switch it on to run. Likewise a lot of services, only running when receiving a trigger from Task Scheduler. I also have a second unscheduled weekly run, it appears to run sometimes a day or so soon after a WUD but, I did find once, we also seem to get 'updates' that don't come thru' the actual WUD app but come in thru' the back door. co-incidence perhaps?

    Everything works bad after the update, my laptop is unusable HDD with 4GB of RAM and i5. 100% album All time, Xbox Bar, WAAS Medic, Sysmain, Windows Update, etc. etc. I'm new in my work Now I have to work twice as much hours because I spend the day fighting with the team. I had to move tools to my phone to flow better.
