advanced power options and csenabled

I suffer from the same cause but in a different way: I have this brand new HP Envy 17 (cg1019no) and Windows build 20H2. Without the advanced power settings avaliable I can no longer set the computer in passive cooling mode, turning the CPU/GPU fans off or at the lowest (compensated by the load on the CPUs/GPUs being lowered). The consequence of this is that suddenly the fans might spinn up causing noise. As I like to work from libraries and other quiet public places (when the pandemic allows it) I simply have to force off the computer when that happens, or run off with it in shame. I want to be able to trust my computer to stay quiet when I chose to). The fairly new Battery Slider is perhaps nice for the novices but I find it way too blunt to be useful. So do please bring back the advanced power settings.

However, please let us know:

1.     May I know the advanced power options that you are referring to?

2.     May I know the update that was installed? To check go to Start >> Settings >> Update & Security >> Windows Update >> View update history.

3.     Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? Refer Which version of Windows operating system am I running?

You can find the advanced power options by following the steps mentioned below:

1.     Press Windows logo key + R, to open Run dialog box.

2.     Type control and click on OK.

3.     Select Large icons from the drop down for View by.

4.     Click on Power Options.

5.     Select Change plan settings for the current active power plan.

6.     Click on Change advanced power settings.

Hi, I'm running the latest version windows 10 pro across all of my laptops ( 2 asus zenbooks, and 1 lenovo c740).  After the last update csenabled went missing in regedit. almost all of the advanced power options went missing as well ( previously when this happened you went into csenabled and switched the value from 1 to 0 to restore. so system cooling policy ,wake timers, swtichable graphics ( ie intel, nvidia, power options), etc are all missing. This has caused fan speeds to run out of control even though internal temps are fine. The only way to fix the fan speed, so far, is to back out of graphics drivers on both dedicated and integrated  drivers.  but not being able to access most of these advanced power options is leading to battery drain. i have tried in place upgrade, and system reset ( but not factory reset). 

This seems to have something to do with the modern power slider that is being forced upon everyone without regard to

your individual system ( ie switchable graphics vs integrated only).  None of the boiler plate fixes seem to work. Any thoughts on how to fix? will a clean install of windows work? btw, the windows 10 and microsoft blogs indicate that a lot of people are having the same problem.  thanks for your help. regards, gary

So all these months later, are you going to bother to reply to all of the questions? Unbelievable that MS removed these advanced settings. I want them back.

LoL. Agree. Its the same problem that half the world has but MS is just getting around to responding like it's a new issue.
