Hi,

You can simply copy the link to reach the desire place in the regedit and then modify the required value.

Step 1 - Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft.NETFramework\v2.0.50727

Create a new entry SystemDefaultTlsVersions with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

Create a new entry SchUseStrongCrypto with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

Step 2 - Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft.NETFramework\v4.0.30319

Create a new entry SystemDefaultTlsVersions with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

Create a new entry SchUseStrongCrypto with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

Step 3 - Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft.NETFramework\v2.0.50727

Create a new entry SystemDefaultTlsVersions with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

Create a new entry SchUseStrongCrypto with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

Step 4 - Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft.NETFramework\v4.0.30319

Create a new entry SystemDefaultTlsVersions with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

Create a new entry SchUseStrongCrypto with a REG_DWORD value set to 1.

After these changes restart the pc and then check if anything happen. If not then follow further step.

Step 5 - Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\WinHttp

Set the DefaultSecureProtocols REG_DWORD value to 800

Step 6 - Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\WinHttp

Set the DefaultSecureProtocols REG_DWORD value to 800

After these changes restart the pc.

    This definitely works (also see OTC Tool Server Issues?! -> FIX HERE - Microsoft Community on what one could include at a .reg file (guess with a "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00" header line at start) to do the above [not the WinHttp step]), but couldn't one force the .exe to run with newer .NET framework using the technique shown at Force an application to run under specific .NET runtime version? - Stack Overflow ?

    Thank you very much sir I spent two days for this.

    Everyone who buys a Microsoft phone will have this experience.

    It took a lot of time.

    However, there is still a problem

    They deleted the popular WhatsApp.

    They could have been supported at least until they expired with a Microsoft phone

    hello so i succeeded in getting past all errors on the otc updater i have also edited the registry but my update is stuck at 48/146 is isnt moving at all anymore please I need to finish the update as soon as possible to be able to access the store. I'm using a Nokia 1520

    Yes.

    you are able to DOWNGRADE back to Win8 update 2.

    Whenever you want.
    And you can also upgrade to Windows 10.
