Hi, This morning, as a test, I installed H&R Block Business 2020 on a fresh Windows 10 Version 20H2 build (OS Version 19042.746).
- First I installed the main EXE.
- Then I installed the update file from https://www.hrblock.com/tax-software/updates-back-editions/federal-windows.html
- Then ran H&R - and make sure to UPDATE the H&R software
Then I am up and running.
For 2018 & 2019 I would try the compatibility option used by NVSteve:
I am NOT sure if using compatibility mode affects use of the H&R software or not, but here's how to use it for any older program...
Find the program file (the .exe the shortcut points to) in Windows Explorer. You can right-click a shortcut to see the path of this file.
Right-click on the file name, select Properties (you may or may not have to confirm Administrator mode), click Compatibility tab, select "Run this program in compatibilitymode" and select Windows version. From this dialogue box, you can also run the Compatibility Troubleshooter to see if an old program can be run in Windows 10. GOOD LUCK!
