This is a summary of the cumulative updates released on October 13th for all the supported consumer releases of Windows 10.

  1. Windows 10 version 2004 - KB4579311 Build 19041.572
  2. Windows 10 versions 1903 and 1909 - KB4574727, Build 18362.1139 and 18363.1139
  3. Windows 10 versions 1809 - KB4570333, Build 17763.1518

IMPORTANT Windows 10, version 1809, will reach end of service on November 10, 2020 for devices running Windows 10 Home, Pro, Pro for Workstation, and IoT Core editions. These devices will no longer receive monthly security and quality updates that contain protection from the latest security threats. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends updating to the latest version of Windows 10.

    Thanks again for your help. Unfortunately, all the methods failed.

    1. Control panel -> uninstall, since the patch wasn't installed, nothing to uninstall.

    1. When I tried to run CMD, the result is the same:

    1. Then, in the third method, the system showed the error message below. I think this is where the problem is:

    • 32 bit or 64 bit
    • Patch you are installing
    • Reported error messages

    +1. Many times some confusion arises because of what type of the update installed - there is a difference between a major feature update and cumulative updates(which is what the discussion is for).

    This should be my 20th attempt to get support from Windows... 

    Microsoft version and build: 2004, installed on 19/09/2020, 19041.508

    Home or Pro: Home (should be Pro)

    32 bit or 64 bit: 64

    Patch you are installing: KB4579311

    Reported error messages: failed to install

    Being a Windows customer that paid (and still pays) for Windows license, that is a Windows and Office Insider (and that paid for an Office 365 family subscription), I expected that, If I would need help, someone would help!

    I could not be more mistaken. Microsoft's Customer Support does not exist. And after endless bots, chats, phone calls, reports, etc. I am thinking of switching to either iOS or other software where I can proper have support.
